Biography

Norah Alice Fennell was born in Brant, Ontario on 28 August 1898 to John Richard Fennell and Emma Matilda Stark Fennell. Her brother Harry was born in 1893 and her brother Oscar was born in 1895. During WWI, Oscar fought as a Gunner for the Canadian Expeditionary Force and was wounded at the Battle of Vimy Ridge in April 1917. Both of Norah’s brothers lived until they were in their 70’s, and are buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Brantford, Ontario.

Norah married Dugald Lorimer at Berkeley Street United Church in Toronto, Ontario on 1 July 1927. At the time, she was working as a laborer and resided at 308 Ontario Street. The couple had three children together.
